save / resurrect
Persist and restore process state across restarts.
save
Save the current process list for resurrection.
runix save
Description
Writes the current process table (names, configs, and states) to ~/.runix/dump.json. This allows processes to be restored after a restart.
Example
runix save
# [Runix] Saved state for 5 process(es)
File Location
~/.runix/dump.json
For backward compatibility, Runix also checks ~/.runix/state.json as a fallback.
resurrect
Restore previously saved processes.
runix resurrect
Description
Reads dump.json (or state.json as fallback) and starts all processes that were saved. This is useful after:
- System reboot (when combined with
runix startup) - Daemon restart
- Manual state recovery
Example
runix resurrect
# [Runix] Resurrected 5 process(es)
Typical Workflow
# During normal operation
runix start --config runix.yaml
runix save
# After daemon restart
runix daemon start
runix resurrect
# Or combine with startup service for auto-resurrection
runix startup
systemctl --user enable --now runix.service
